| Tom Morrison, son of a printer and the third of four brothers, grew up fifteen miles east in Glenview, Illinois. His parents helped found Christian Liberty Academy of Arlington Heights in 1969. Tom inherited a strong work ethic from his parents, starting work at an early age. Morrison fondly remembers being a life guard at the age of sixteen, like his role model President Ronald Reagan. With support from awards and scholarships, Tom earned a bachelor’s degree at Hillsdale College. On campus outside class, he worked as a beat reporter and sports editor for the college paper. After college Morrison pursued a dynamic career. Following Hillsdale and an internship at WGN-AM radio in Chicago, he accepted a position as a radio news reporter and anchor in Dubuque, Iowa. However, a future in the news industry wasn’t meant to be. Homesick and eager to return to the Chicago area, Tom came home as a school teacher at Christian Liberty Academy. He taught fifth grade for six years. Subsequently, Tom partnered with his brother to enter a SERVPRO franchise, a disaster cleanup and restoration company based in Elk Grove. Through hard work over the last five years, their business has grown substantially. For sales and on-the-job performance, Tom earned SERVPRO Industries 2009 Director’s Gold and 2010 Director’s Platinum Award. In 2002 Tom married Bethany and settled down in Palatine. They have two children, Tyler and Susanna. The Morrison attend Grace Community Bible Church in Roselle. |
